With the garden cleared out and everything "going to sleep" for the year, it seemed a little odd but also hopeful (for planing time to come in the spring) to be rowing Peter Rabbit. It really would make a great study for spring but it fit into my order of country studies at this time. I am getting much better with my control/organizational/type A personality "issues" I will call them. BUT only to a point you know. :)
So where in the world is Peter causing all of his mischief? Europe- England- Mr. McGregor's garden. This was our 1st country in Europe. Done with the Asia studies now. We opted to include Russia in the continent of Asia vs. Europe only because it worked well with our schedule that way. It also made our move into Europe flow nicely.
Social Studies: Why it is important to follow rules.
Science: Healthy habits in the winter, sounds a rabbit makes
Language arts: Vocabulary, apology letter to Mr. McGregor, narration of the story, onomatopoeia
Math: Planning and planting a grid garden for Mr. McGregor
I am pretty sure that Luke's favorite part of this week was learning about onomatopoeia and saying the word. He used that word a LOT this week. So cute!!
