Apple Fest

I must start by saying that it cracks me up that I think of family outings as "Field trips" now that we are homeschoolers. Never entered my mind to think that way with our big kids who were/are public schooled. Two of the three older ones are out of school and one is a senior. YIKES!! (Yep I am OLD!!!!) Okay maybe not that old but it sure makes me sound old to say that. :)

We took the kids to the apple orchard for the annual fall apple fest. Grandma went along with us which added to the fun of the day.

Here are the kids waiting on the tractor to return so we could go for a hay rack ride.

We got to see donkeys, sheep and llama's. Pretty cool since we had just studied donkeys the week before. (part of our Israel study)

Here is Luke playing one of the apple themed games.

We had grilled hot dogs, apple cider and chips. It was a great lunch other than the swarms of bees trying to eat and drink everything they could find. We came home with some apples, apple cider, fresh honey and kettle corn. Yummy!
