Our Week: The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week...

We have a town (village haha) party to celebrate July 4th which was last Saturday, so not a lot of celebrating this week. We had friends and family over and really enjoyed our day except for the crazy heat. The kids spent most of the day in and out of the pool. As we have most of the week. Gotta beat the heat somehow!

We have a few tadpoles in our little flower garden pond this week. Last year we had tons which were given to us by a friend. These are thanks to our many frog and toad friends living in our yard.

In our homeschool this week...

Not a whole lot. Continuing with Professor B Math {review coming Monday} and reading lots of books for the summer reading program. Toss in a little typing and game playing and that is about it.

Places we went and people we seen...

We had Summer Reading Program at the library on Monday. The Spoon Man was there and put on a show for the kids. I suppose that ties in with with the theme Reading is so Delicious. Silverware is a must have. :)

On the 4th we went in and took my mom out for lunch. She has not gotten out much since her surgery and we love spending time with her.

Things I am working on...

Planning for the start of next school year, which starts full swing on August 6th. Cleaning out the education station, aka- schoolroom. Lots of great reviews for the Crew.

I'm reading...

King Alfred's English {review coming soon}

   Who is My Neighbor? {review coming soon}

I'm cooking...

As little as possible. Although yesterday I did have to bake some cinnamon rolls and bread. I know, I know crazy to bake when it is 100 degrees outside but cravings call!

I am grateful for...

So many things. Where do I start? Hmmm... Christ, family, our garden which is growing some yummy food, air conditioning :), the Schoolhouse Crew [we have been so blessed already with some great products and a really great group of people (crew) to share the experience with. The list could go on and on.

Just had to share this that I seen on FB from Belcastro.
