A highschool senior, Seth, is faced with the fact that his mom has tragically died and his father has abandoned him with two little sisters to care for. Added to his struggles is the quarterback of his high school football team, which takes every chance he can get to cause problems in Seth's life.
Working two jobs trying to provide for himself and his sisters becomes even more difficult when he has to take on a third job at the school as punishment. This is where he is introduced to Abel, the groundskeeper, and finds the one person he thinks understands him and he can turn to.
Seth is angry at God for his mom's death and rejects wanting to ask for Gods help after prompting by both his pastor and Abel. Worsening financial struggles tempt Seth to make some poor choices which makes him realize his need for help.
Goodness, redemption and ultimately hope prevail.
I enjoyed this movie, but it was a bit of a slow start. Once the plot began to develop it kept my interest and I wanted to see how it would all unfold. I did not watch this with my little ones and I am glad because I think I would have had a lot of explaining to do. In my opinion this is for the high school crowd and up. This could spark great conversations within your family.
